Default Problem

Hey everyone.

Firstly I must state I'm not a wizz with PC's or system specs/internet or anything like that but I'll give you all the information I can about my problem.

The problem is that when I log into GW my connection to the internet seems to slow down causing my character to stop moving.
Before I load Guild Wars up I ran firefox and checked the internet was working smoothly which it was, as soon as I loaded GW I refreshed my homepage and it took ages to load this happens every time now.
Sometimes my msn disconnects aswell.

By the way I run on Wireless, but I got no idea if that has anything to do with it?

I don't know if it's to do with CPU usage as it takes all of it up.
I've updated drivers, tried without firewall (I know stupid idea), yet still no luck.

Anyone out there know about this problem or a way to solve it.
If you want anymore detail I can try and get it as I guess anything will help.
Thanks.

EDIT: I have tried to take MSN off and all applications unneeded but still no luck ^^
I have also followed the Sticky Thread about my Err=007 tried that and still no luck.
I have also tried the other sticky thread called "Bad Lag" but you guessed it.

Thanks for your help so far.
I will try and use a cable but the router hub thingy is downstairs and down the hall so an extra long cable maybe lol.

Wireless can increase lag - use wired if at all possible.

Don't run MSN at the same time as GW.

Sounds like Guild Wars is taking up all the bandwidth.

Never really heard of that happening.. but it can't really be much else.

Don't have any solutions yet, maybe try updating your WiFi card's drivers is all I can think of right now, I'll try to look up some info on it.

Maybe you can post what type of ISP you have?

Don't confuse connection speed with bandwidth. Just because your system can load an internet page quickly, doesn't mean it can load a whole bunch of stuff quickly.
Think of it as a sports car and an 18-wheeler traveling at the same speed - which one gets you there faster? Which one gets more stuff there?

I used to have this problem all the time on my old computer.

you probably shouls not have all that stuff running while GW is running, and you should use a wire if you can. I am wireless too, and I lost my connection frequently which caused my character to stop moving, and eventually would get the disconnected error.
